November Theme: Aparigraha — The Yoga of Enough

ree

This month, we explore Aparigraha, the yogic practice of non-grasping, non-hoarding, and letting go. Patañjali tells us in Yoga Sutra II.39:

“When non-grasping is firmly established, knowledge of the purpose of birth arises.”

Aparigraha invites us to loosen our grip, on things, people, expectations, feelings, habits, old stories... and trust the natural flow of life. It reminds us that freedom doesn’t come from holding on, but from allowing.

As we move through November, nature models this truth beautifully: the trees release their leaves, the light softens, and the earth begins to rest. In the same way, we are invited to shed what we no longer serves us and make space for peace, gratitude, and clarity.

When we let go of excess, we remember our essence. Our heart’s desire.

When we stop chasing what we lack, we begin to see the quiet abundance already present.

This is the Yoga of Enough — a way of living rooted in simplicity, gratitude, and trust.

Throughout this month, our practice will explore how Aparigraha can be lived and felt in all parts of life:

  • in the body, as physical release and ease,

  • in the heart, as gratitude and generosity,

  • in the mind, as quiet acceptance,

  • and in the spirit, as the rediscovery of inner light.

May this month’s practice remind us that nothing real can be lost, and that when we finally open our hands, life has a way of filling them with exactly what we need.
