December has a way of sweeping us up, doesn’t it?It’s a month full of excitement, gatherings, celebrations, school events, work parties, family traditions — a beautiful mix of joy and busyness. And with all of that movement, it’s very easy to feel pulled in different directions.
This month’s theme, Rooted in the Rush, is an invitation to stay connected to what truly grounds you. Even when life feels full, you can return to your roots — your values, your intentions, your people, the little rituals that bring you home to yourself.
If you’d like to take a moment to reflect before the month unfolds, here are a few gentle journaling prompts to explore. Let them guide you back to what matters most.
Journaling Prompts for December
1. What do you want to focus on this month?
What truly deserves your time, energy, and presence? What lights you up or brings you back to yourself?
2. What do you need to focus less on?
Is there anything that drains you, overwhelms you, or pulls you too far away from your roots?
3. How do you want to feel this December?
Calm? Connected? Joyful? Grounded? Clear? Let the feeling lead the choices you make.
4. What steps do you need to take to create that feeling?
Think of small, realistic actions — boundaries, routines, pauses, rituals, or moments of rest.
5. Where do your roots lie?
Who or what helps you stay present? Consider your relationships, communities, practices, or inner values.
6. What would help you return to yourself when the month feels busy?
A breath, a walk, a grounding practice, a conversation, a quiet moment — name what actually works for you.
7. What do you want your December memories to be?
What do you want to look back on in January and feel grateful you made space for?
May these prompts guide you back to what truly matters. Give yourself permission to schoose what feels right, and honour your own rhythm this month.
Lots of love,
Viki x
